New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai on Tuesday informed the Lok Sabha that the Centre has provided Rs 4679.89 crore financial assistance to Odisha for repair and reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure rendered by Cyclone Fani in May this year.
The Union minister, in a written reply to a question of the BJP member Jual Oram, said out of the sanctioned amount, the Centre had provided Rs 340.87 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) and Rs 3338.22 crore from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).
Apart from this, the Centre had also provided additional assistance of Rs 1000 crore after the aerial tour of the affected districts of the state by the Prime Minister, Rai informed.
