Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 71 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the I&PR Department informed on Wednesday.
Of the new cases detected in 18 districts, 42 are from quarantine and 29 local contacts.
Sundargarh reported the highest of 11 cases, followed by Khurda (7), six each from Balasore, Sambalpur, Puri, Cuttack and Bargarh, Nuapada (5), three each from Jajpur, and Kalahandi, two each from Angul, Balangir, Keonjhar, one each in Boudh, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Kendrapada, and Rayagada.
Besides, the state pool has one case.
At present, Odisha has 946 active cases while 3,32,377 patients have recovered.
Notably, Odisha’s active cases have fallen below 1,000 for the first time since June 2, 2020.
