COVID-19: Odisha Records Most Deaths In a Day, One From Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 death toll in Odisha rose to 286 on Monday with 14 more patients succumbing to the virus in the last 24 hours.

This was the highest single-day toll recorded in the state so far.

The deceased included six from Ganjam, three from Nayagarh, two from Khurda, one each from Bhubaneswar, Rayagada, and Sundargarh, the Health and Family Welfare Department informed.

  1. A 30-year-old male of Nayagarh district. He was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
  2. A 34-year-old male of Nayagarh district.
  3. A 78-year-old male of Nayagarh district.
  4. An 84-year-old female of Bhubaneswar.
  5. An 82-year-old male of Khurda district. He was also suffering from diabetes & hypertension.
  6. A 69-year-old male of Khurda district. He was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
  7. An 85-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  8. A 65-year-old male of Ganjam district.
  9. A 70-year-old female of Ganjam district. She was also suffering from hypertension.
  10. A 50-year-old male of Ganjam district. He was also suffering from end-stage chronic kidney disease.
  11. A 55-year-old male of Ganjam district. He was also suffering from diabetes.
  12. A 50-year-old male of Ganjam district. He was also suffering from chronic kidney disease.
  13. A 46-year-old male of Rayagada district. He was also suffering from diabetes & hypertension.
  14. A 72-year-old male of Sundargarh district. He was also suffering from Diabetes.

With the 14 new deaths reported on Monday, 137 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Ganjam district, followed 38 in Khurda, 18 in Sundargarh, 16 in Gajapati, 11 in Cuttack, 11 in Rayagada, eight in Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Balasore, four each in Keonjhar, Bhadrak and Puri, three each in Bargarh, Jajpur and Kendrapada, two each in Koraput, Sambalpur, Malkangiri, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi and Angul and one each in Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, and Dhenkanal.
