Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha went up to 22,693 on Friday with the highest single-day spike of 1594 positive cases in the last 24 hours.
The 1594 fresh cases were reported from 28 districts. Of them, 1067 were detected in quarantine centres and 527 were local contact cases.
Ganjam led the tally with the highest single-day rise of 731 cases, followed by Khurda (320), Cuttack (136), Bhadrak (60), Sundargarh (56), Boudh (41), Koraput (33), Mayurbhanj (32), Puri (30), Balasore (22), Keonjhar (20), Kandhamal (17), Sambalpur (13), 10 each in Nayagarh and Angul, nine each in Malkangiri and Kendrapada, eight each in Bargarh and Jharsuguda, Balangir (6), Jajpur (5), Sonepur (4), three each in Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur and Nabarangpur, Dhenkanal (2), one each in Kalahandi and Nuapada.
Out of the 22,693 positive cases in Odisha so far, 8148 are active ones while 14, 392 patients have recovered. Besides, the death toll has gone up to 120 in the last 24 hours.
