Bhubaneswar: With the cold wave intensifying across Odisha, the night temperature plummeted to season’s lowest of 4 degree Celsius at G Udayagiri in Kandhamal district in the last 24 hours, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre informed on Thursday.
Sixteen places in the state recorded temperature below 10 degree Celsius – Semiliguda in Koraput (5.7), Phulbani (6.5), Sundargarh’s Kirei (6.6), Koraput (7.6), Angul & Daringbadi (8), Rourkela (8.3), Keonjhar (8.4), Sundargarh (8.6), Bhawanipatna, Jharsuguda & Nabarangpur (9), Bhadrak’s Ranital (9.1), Sonepur (9.6) and Balangir 10.
The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also continued to feel the winter chill and experienced the coldest day of the season as the mercury dropped to 12.4 and 12.8 degree Celsius respectively.
The MeT Centre has forecast no large change in the night temperature for a day or two. Minimum temperature is likely to remain 2-3 degree Celsius below normal at a few places in the state during next 2 days. It is likely to rise thereafter by 2-3 degree Celsius at many places.
