Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should personally intervene in the alleged corruption and recruitment scam in the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra has said.
Mohapatra said this in reaction to the arrest of the private secretary to the member of OSSC, Biranchi Narayan Sahu.
“The arrest of the private secretary has raised a big question mark on the credibility of the OSSC in recruiting deserving candidates. The private secretary is a small fry. He couldn’t have manipulated the recruitment on his own without the knowledge of the members and staff including the OSSC chairman,” the BJP leader told the media.
“The State Vigilance and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) must bring them under the purview of their investigation,” he added.
Mohapatra alleged that the recruitment scam in the OSSC had been going on for the past 10 years.
The Commission should either face the Vigilance probe or else the state government should dismiss all the members and staff as they can manipulate evidence if they continue in their posts, he claimed.

Mohapatra also said that the State Vigilance should thoroughly investigate the matter and issue a public notice.
“Apart from this, the State Vigilance should also probe into the matter on the basis of the complaints of all the deserving candidates who have been victimized due to rampant corruption,” he pointed out.
