Bhubaneswar: Odisha has registered 17% growth in gross GST revenue collection in August, 2022 over the collection in the same month last year.
According to a release of Ministry of Finance, the gross GST revenue collection in the country in the month of August 2022 was Rs 1,43,612 crore. It included Rs 24,710 crore CGST, Rs 30,951 crore SGST, Rs 77,782 crore IGST (including Rs 42,067 crore collected on import of goods) and Rs 10,168 crore cess (including Rs 1,018 crore collected on import of goods).
In Odisha, the GST collection in August 2022 was Rs 3,884 crore against Rs 3,317 crore collection in August 2021. The state has registered a growth of 17% in GST collection in the month.
The Central government has settled Rs 29,524 crore to CGST and Rs 25,119 crore to SGST from IGST. The total revenue of Centre and the states in August 2022 after regular settlement was Rs 54,234 crore for CGST and Rs 56,070 crore for the SGST.
The GST collection in August 2022 was 28% higher than the collection in the same month last year of Rs 1,12,020 crore. During the month, revenue from import of goods was 57% higher and that from domestic transaction (including import of services) was 19% higher than the revenue from these sources during the same month last year.
The monthly GST revenues have been more than Rs 1.4 lakh crore for six months in a row. The growth in GST revenue till August 2022 over the same period last year is 33%, the release stated.
