Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Fighting against economic slowdown due to COVID pandemic, Odisha has registered a 40% growth in GST collection in September compared to the same month last year.
According to a Ministry of Finance release, the gross GST collection in September was
Rs 1,17,010 crore. Of the total GST collection, CGST accounted for Rs 20,578 crore, SGST Rs 26,767 crore, IGST Rs 60,911 crore (including ₹ 29,555 crore collected on import of goods) and Cess Rs 8,754 crore (including ₹ 623 crore collected on import of goods).
Of the GST collected by Centre and states, Odisha accounted for Rs 3,326 crore in the month. The GST collection in September, 2020 was Rs 2,384 crore.
The growth of the state’s GST collection in September, 2021 over the same month last year was pegged at 40% compared to national growth of 23%.
The average monthly gross GST collection for the second quarter of the current year in the country has been ₹ 1.15 lakh crore, which is 5% higher than the average monthly collection of ₹ 1.10 lakh crore in the first quarter of the year.
