Odisha Registers 43% Growth In GST Collection In December 2021

Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 43% growth in GST collection in December, 2021 over the corresponding month in 2020.

According to a Ministry of Finance release, the gross GST revenue collection in December 2021 was Rs 1,29,780 crore which included Rs 22,578 crore CGST, Rs 28,658 crore SGST, Rs 69,155 crore IGST (including Rs 37,527 crore from import) and Rs 9,389 crore cess (including Rs 614 crore from import).

The revenue collection in December 2021 was 13% higher than that of the same month last year and 26% more than the collection in December, 2019. The revenue registered a rise despite reduction of 17% in e-way bills generated in November, 2021 (6.1 crore) compared to October, 2021 (7.4 crore).

In Odisha, total GST collection was Rs 4080 crore in December, 2021 compared to Rs 2860 crore in December, 2020, the Ministry said.

The government has settled Rs 25,568 crore to CGST and Rs 21,102 crore to SGST from IGST as regular settlement. The total revenue of Centre and the states in December 2021 after settlements was Rs 48,146 crore for CGST and Rs 49,760 crore for the SGST.

The average monthly GST collection for the third quarter of the current year was Rs 1.30 lakh crore against Rs 1.10 lakh crore and Rs 1.15 lakh crore in first and second quarters respectively.
