Bhubaneswar: The Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in Odisha has gone up by 30.28% in May 2023 compared the collection in the same month last year.
The Ministry of Finance in a release stated that the state recorded a gross GST collection of Rs 4397.73 crore during May, 2023 against Rs 3955.75 crore in corresponding period of previous year with a growth rate of 11.17%. The collection consisting of OGST and IGST settlement was Rs 1675.77 crore against Rs 1286.29 crore during May 2o22.
The progressive gross GST collection upto May this year was Rs 9433.47 crore against Rs 8865.98 crore in the same period with a growth of 6.40%. The progressive collection to be retained by the state was Rs 4034.94 crore against Rs 2966.29 crore till May 2022 recording a growth of 36.03%.
The collection under all Acts monitored by the Commissionerate of CT & GST, Odisha including GST/VAT/Entry Tax/Profession Tax was Rs 2711.04 crore in the month against Rs 2311.78 crore in same month last year with a growth of 17.27%.
The Ministry further said the state generated 20.40 lakh waybills in May 2023 against 17.26 lakh in May last year with a growth of 18.19%.
