Bhubaneswar: Odisha with an affected tally of 192548 figured among the top 10 states in India with the most number of COVID-19 cases on Wednesday.
As on September 22, the state was also eighth with 34033 actives cases with Maharashtra (275017), Karnataka (95354), Andhra Pradesh (74518), Uttar Pradesh (64164), Tamil Nadu (46495), Kerala (39354) and Chhattishgarh (37927) leading the list in this order.
What is worrying is that Odisha posted the second-highest rise in active cases (529) after Assam (829).
According to the September 23 PIB data, the state had 18 per cent active cases and continued the occupy the eight slot.
With 736 COVID deaths, the case fatality rate is 0.38 per cent, which is the lowest among states.
According to the Health Ministry, Odisha conducts 61,502 tests per million persons which is higher than the national average. Positivity rate in Odisha is 6.8 per cent, which is lower than the national average.
