Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 6000 on Friday with 5235 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
With these fresh infections being detected from 65635 samples, the state posted a test positivity rate of 7.97 per cent.
The state had seen 6097 fresh infections the previous day with a test positivity rate of 8.75 per cent. A total of 69638 samples were sent for tests.
According to the I & PR department, 2957 of the new cases are from quarantine and 2278 local contacts.
Khurda recorded the highest 726 fresh cases followed by Cuttack (557) and Jajpur (394).
