Odisha Reports 186 New COVID Cases; 21% Children

Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 186 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours against 193 the previous day.

The state had registered 169 cases on Saturday, 154 on Friday, 173 on Thursday, 218 on Wednesday, and 175 on Tuesday.

According to the I & PR Department, 109 of the new infections are from quarantine and 77 local contacts. Among them, 39 are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda reported the highest of 94 new cases followed by Cuttack at 18. Eleven districts reported nil cases.

Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:

  5. Cuttack: 18
  6. Deogarh: 5
  7. Gajapati: 2
  8. Ganjam: 1
  9. Jagatsinghpur: 3
  10. Jajpur: 2
  11. Jharsuguda: 2
  12. Kendrapada: 1
  13. Khurda: 94
  14. Mayurbhanj: 5
  15. Nayagarh: 2
  16. Puri: 2
  17. Rayagada: 3
  18. Sambalpur: 8
  19. Sundargarh: 7

Besides, 23 cases are from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 54,226 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.34%.

While the affected tally has touched 10,53,020, Odisha now has 1,821 active cases.
