Odisha Reports 206 New COVID Cases, Nil In 15 Districts; Testing Drops Below 50K

Bhubaneswar: A day after the daily COVID caseload dropped below 200, Odisha on Tuesday saw 206 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

These cases have been reported from 15 districts and 32 among them are in the 0-18 years age group.

While 185 new infections were detected on Monday, the state had reported 262 new cases on Sunday, 247 on Saturday, 263 on Friday, 271 on Thursday and 387 on Wednesday.

According to the I & PR department, 121 of the new cases are from quarantine and 85 local contacts. Khurda saw the highest 120 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (15) and Jajpur (12). No new infections have been reported from 15 districts.

12. Kendrapara: 2
13. Khurda: 120
14. Sambalpur: 3
15. Sundargarh: 5

Besides, 27 from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 49,975 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.41 per cent. The TPR had dropped 0.32 per cent on Monday.

While the COVD-19 tally in the state reached 1045862, Odisha now has 2669 active cases.
