Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha remained below 1000 for the fourth consecutive day on Friday with 671 fresh infections being detected in the last 24 hours.
The daily count on February 14 had dropped to 859 for the first time in 45 days after the third wave of the pandemic broke out in the state, followed by 925 on February 15, 852 on February 16 and 886 on February 17.
According to the I & PR department, 393 of the new cases are from quarantine and 278 are local contacts. Among them, 131 are in the age group of 0-18 years. Sundargarh district registered the highest of 105 fresh infections, followed by Khurda (103) and Jajpur (47).

These cases have been detected from 58,735 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 1.14 per cent against 1.44 per cent the previous day.
