Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha touched 2,59,541 on Wednesday with 2604 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to I & PR Department, 1511 have been reported from different quarantine centres while remaining 1093 are local contact cases. Khurda has reported the highest of 385 cases followed by Angul (216), Cuttack (209), Sundargarh (186), Balasore (164), Mayurbhanj (122), Jajpur (113), Nuapada (95), Bargarh (90), Jagatsinghpur (84), Kalahandi (76), Kendrapada (70), Balangir (64), Nabarangpur (60), Jharsuguda (57), Malkangiri (57), Keonjhar (51), Bhadrak (50), Puri (49), Sambalpur (49), Sonepur (44), Kandhamal (38), Nayagarh (35), Dhenkanal (33), Boudh (31), Koraput (31), Ganjam (29), Rayagada (21), Deogarh (13) and Gajapati (8).
Besides, the State Pool has 74 cases.
These cases from all 30 districts were detected from 42,167 swab samples tested on Tuesday.
With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 25,428 while 2,32,988 patients have so far recovered from the infection.
