Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 300 for second consecutive day on Friday as 263 more people, including 44 in the age group of 0-18 years, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported 271 new cases on Thursday, 387 cases on Wednesday, 296 on Tuesday, 276 on Monday and 318 on Sunday.
According to the I & PR department, 153 of the new infections are from quarantine and 110 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest 129 cases followed by 21 in Cuttack. Ten districts saw nil cases.

With these cases being detected from 66,533 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.39 per cent. The TPR was 0.43 per cent on Thursday, 0.60 per cent on Wednesday, 0.55 per cent on Tuesday and 0.46 per cent on Monday.
While the COVID tally has touched at 1044962, Odisha now has 2,884 active cases.
