Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 400 on Monday as 316 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state reported 488 new cases on Sunday, 374 on Saturday, 365 on Friday, 412 on Thursday, and 549 on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 51 (16.13 per cent) are children below 18 years of age.
According to the I & PR department, 186 of the fresh infections are from quarantine and 130 local contacts. Khurda at 152, accounted for 48 per cent of the new cases, followed by Cuttack (32) and Mayurbhanj (28). Eight districts saw nil cases.

Besides, 35 are from the state pool.
With these cases detected from 63,651 samples, the test positivity rate dropped to 0.49 per cent. The TPR was 0.70 per cent on Sunday.
