Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,368 on Wednesday with four more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to the Health & Family Welfare Department, two deaths have been reported from Bhubaneswar and one each from Balasore and Khurda district.
Here are the details of the deceased after an audit:
1.A 83 years old male of Balasore district.
2.A 83 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Psychiatry Disorder.
3.A 49 years old female of Bhubaneswar.
4.A 75 years old male of Khurda district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
Notably, Odisha has reported 6,483 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 in the first wave last year.
There were 134 casualties due to the disease in the state in October and 346 in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 44 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
