Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,261 on Tuesday with six more deaths being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen six deaths due to the deadly disease the previous day.
According to Health department sources, two deaths have been reported from Bhubaneswar and one each from Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur.
Here are the details of the deceased in different districts after an audit:
1.A 78 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
2.A 59 years old male of Bhubaneswar.
3.A 50 years old female of Balasore district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Bronchial Asthma.
4.A 45 years old male of Bhadrak district.
5.A 96 years old male of Jagatsinghpur district who was also suffering from Post Tuberculosis obstructive airway disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease & Old Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
6.A 60 years old female of Jajpur district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
Notably, Odisha has reported 6,376 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 the previous year.
There were 346 casualties due to the disease in the state in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 40 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
