Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha touched 8,268 on Wednesday with seven more deaths being confirmed in the last 24 hours.
According to Health department sources, two deaths have been reported from Bhubaneswar, two from Cuttack, and one each from Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Sundargarh.
Here are the details of the deceased in different districts after an audit:
1.A 80 years old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
2.A 70 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Hypothyroidism & Chronic Kidney Disease.
3.A 65 years old male of Cuttack district.
4.A 75 years old male of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Tuberculosis.
5.A 36 years old male of Jagatsinghpur district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
6.A 61 years old female of Jajpur district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
7.A 72 years old male of Sundargarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Hypothyroidism.
Notably, Odisha has reported 6,383 COVID deaths during the second wave against 1,876 the previous year.
There were 346 casualties due to the disease in the state in September. Similarly, 2,056 fatalities were registered in August, while July saw 1,903 deaths, June 1,272 and May 737, said sources in the Health Department.
The second wave of the pandemic has claimed the lives of 40 children and adolescents in Odisha. As many as 13 of these deaths were reported between August 10 and 31.
