Odisha Reports 8 COVID-19 Deaths For 2nd Day In Row; 29-Yr-Old Youngest Victim

Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw eight COVID-19 deaths for the second consecutive day on Saturday.

According to the Health Department sources, two fatalities have been reported from Sundargarh and one each from Balasore, Bargarh, Bhadrak, Balangir, Nuapada, and Cuttack in the last 24 hours.

The deceased have been identified as:

1.A 54 years old male of Balangir district who was also suffering from Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

2.A 29 years old male of Balasore district.

3.A 40 years old male of Bargarh district.

4.A 38 years old male of Bhadrak district.

5.A 65 years old female of Cuttack district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Asthma & Hypothyroidsim.

6.A 60 years male of Nuapada district

7.A 50 years old male of Sundargarh district.

8.A 50 years old male of Sundargarh district.

With this, the toll rose to 1,981.

The state also saw a record spike of 6,647 new cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the active cases tally past the 40,000-mark.
