Bhubaneswar: A sarpanch, among 91 people, has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 in Odisha in the last 24 hours.
With this, the number of corona positive count in the state spiralled to 828 on Sunday.
Among the 91 new cases, 28 are from Bhadrak, Balasore (17), Ganjam (15), Cuttack (12), Puri (7), Keonjhar (4), Khurda (3), Balangir (2), Kendrapada (1), Sambalpur (1) and Sundargarh( 1).
Details of the patients are awaited.
The Health Department sources, however, said that 87 of these cases have been detected in quarantine centres.
CASES SO FAR
While Ganjam leads with 292 positive cases, Jajpur is second with 121 followed by Balasore (119), Khurda (59), Bhadrak (74), Kendrapara (27), Sundargarh (27), Puri (25), Angul (15), Mayurbhanj (11), Cuttack (22), Nayagarh (6), Jagatsinghpur (5), Boudh (4), Keonjhar (8), Balangir (4), Deogarh (2), Jharsuguda (2), Kalahandi (2), Dhenkanal (1), Sambalpur (1) and Koraput (1).
With 196 having recovered from the infection, the state now has 627 active cases.
