Bhubaneswar: The COVID caseload in Odisha remained below 500 for the second consecutive day on Tuesday as 428 more people, including 55 children below 18 years of age, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
A total of 471 people were found infected the previous day.
According to the I & PR department, 252 of the new infections are from quarantine and 176 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest of 179 new cases, followed by Cuttack (46) and Jajpur (21). There are nil cases in eight districts – Balangir, Boudh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Sonepur, Nabarangpur and Koraput.
With these cases being detected from 48086 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.89 per cent against 0.93 per cent on Monday.
