Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha went up to 19,835 on Wednesday with the highest single-day spike of 1078 cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Out of 1078 cases reported from 28 districts, 735 are from quarantine centres while 357 are local contact cases.
While Ganjam leads the tally with the highest single-day rise of 371 cases, Khurda has 121 cases followed by Rayagada (96), Malkangiri (66), Cuttack (57), Jagatsinghpur (35), Jharsuguda (34), Sundargarh (29), Puri (28), Bargarh (26), Gajapati (24), Kendrapada (24), Sambalpur (20), Jajpur (20), Nabarangpur (17), Keonjhar (16), Kalahandi (15), Koraput (15), Mayurbhanj (13), Kandhamal (13), Balasore (10), Sonepur (10), Balangir (6), Nayagarh (5), Boudh (3), Dhenkanal (2), Angul (1) and Bhadrak (1).
Out of 19,835 positive cases in the state so far, 6387 are active ones while 13,309 patients have recovered and have been discharged from the COVID hospitals. Besides, the death toll has gone up to 108 with five more deaths in the last 24 hours.
