Odisha Reports New Cases In Single Digit For Third Time This Month; 7 Districts Turn COVID-Free

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload again dropped to single-digit in Odisha on Tuesday as 6 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against 12 the previous day.

This is for the third time this month that the state has reported cases in single digit on a single day. While 8 people were found infected on April 10, 5 had tested positive on April 4.

According to the I & PR department, 4 of the new cases are from quartine and 2 local contacts. Among them, 2 are in the age group of 0-18 years. These cases have been reported from three districts.

Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:

1. Kendrapada: 1

2. Khurda: 2

3. Sambalpur: 3

With these cases being detected from 18,482 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.03%.

Having logged 6 new cases and 12 recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 137 active cases. Seven districts- Nayagarh, Keonjhar, Puri, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Kalahandi – are free from Coronavirus with nil active cases.
