Odisha Reports New COVID Cases From Only 2 Districts; Nil From Khurda

Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha on Tuesday was the second-lowest since the outbreak of the pandemic two years back, with only three samples testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

The state had logged just one case on April 23. The daily count had dropped to single-digit on Monday with the state logging seven cases, six days after reporting 14, 18, 19, 14, 17 and 12 infections.

According to the I & PR department, two of these 3 new cases are from quarantine and one local contact. While Kendrapada has reported two cases, one is from Cuttack. After a long gap, no new infections have been reported from Khurda.

With these cases being detected from 12,237 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.02 per cent.

Odisha now has 118 active cases with 3 new cases and 17 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Twelve districts are free from coronavirus in the state.
