Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a sharp fall in daily COVID-19 caseload, a drop of almost 86 per cent, on Monday as five people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 36 cases the previous day.
According to the I & PR department, 4 of the new infections are from quarantine and 1 local contact. Only four districts reported new cases. Two among them are in the age group of 0-18 years.
Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:
1. Balasore: 1
2. Balangir: 1
3. Jajpur: 2
4. Sambalpur: 1
With these cases being detected from 20,640 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.02 per cent.
Odisha now has 298 active cases with these additions and 37 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Keonjhar, Nayagrah and Koraput are free from COVID while Puri, Kalahandi and Nuapada have one active case each.
