Bhubaneswar: Amid the declining daily caseload, Odisha reported the highest-ever COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday as 45 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to the Health department sources, the fatalities were reported from 15 districts.
The highest of six deaths have been reported from Khurda. Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sundargarh saw four fatalities each followed by three each from Boudh and Jharsuguda, two each from Bargarh and Rayagada and one each from Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, and Nayagarh.
Details of the patients awaited.
With this, the toll has surged to 3,080.
Odisha also saw 5,896 more people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, the lowest after April 21 when it had reported 4851 new cases. The test positivity rate in the state has dropped to 8.5 per cent.
