Nimapada: Odisha reported its first swine flu case of the season on Tuesday with a woman from Nimapada district testing positive for the infection.
She was admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after she complained of cold and cough. Suspecting swine flu, doctors sent her swab sample for examination to the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), which tested her positive for H1N1 virus, said a media report.
The typical symptoms of swine flu fever are chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, watery, red eyes, body aches, headache, fatigue, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
The virus is transmitted to human being through influenza in pigs. The standard advice of doctors is that people need to be cautious while moving in crowded places and in case of cold or a sore throat, they should go to a doctor without losing time,
