Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 vaccination drive resumed in Odisha on Monday, a day after it was suspended for a review on Sunday.
Director (Health and Family Welfare) Bijay Panigrahi informed that 31,902 health workers will be vaccinated in 380 sessions on Monday.
Panigrahi stated that out of around 1.92 lakh health workers in Odisha, 13,890 have been vaccinated so far. As for the remaining 1.78 lakh health workers, the number of sessions has been increased to 1,698 to complete the first-phase of vaccination by January 25, he added.
“As decided, there will be 192 sessions on January 19 (Tuesday), 92 on January 20 (Wednesday), 436 on January 21 (Thursday), 141 on January 22 (Friday), 178 on January 23 (Saturday) and 279 on January 25 (Monday),” he informed.

Panigrahi further said the health workers, who have received the first dose of the vaccine, will be administered the second dose after 28 days. They will receive an SMS two days before the administration of the second dose, he added.
Earlier, Additional Chief Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Pradipta Mohapatra had said there will be no vaccination on Sunday.
