Bhubaneswar: Health Director Bijay Panigrahi on Monday said that Odisha’s Covishield vaccine stock will last only for another two days.
The state now has a stock of around six lakh doses of Covishield and around 1.48 lakh doses of Covaxin.
While the stock of Covaxin is adequate since it is being administered to the eligible beneficiaries only in Bhubaneswar, that of Covishield, which is used throughout the state, will last for only two more days with at least 2 lakh people being inoculated a day.

With the Centre approving vaccination of all citizens above 45 years across the country from April 1, the state government last month had sought an adequate supply of COVID-19 vaccine at the earliest for uninterrupted vaccination drive.

Odisha had received 3.7 lakh doses of Covishield on March 24.
Panigrahi informed that 33,04,732 people had received the jab in Odisha and the target is to vaccinate 1.16 crore.
In accordance with the Centre’s guidelines, fresh registration of frontline workers and healthcare workers for the vaccination is not being held in the state, he added.
