Cuttack: Eminent writer and secretary of Odisha Sahitya Akademi Prabodh Rout breathed his last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here on Tuesday.
According to sources, Rout was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after he met with an accident when a stray dog suddenly came in front of his motorcycle last Sunday.
“He suffered severe brain injury in the accident and could not be saved despite best treatment. He was not only an efficient administrator but also a good writer. I extend my deepest sympathy to the bereaved family,” said Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani.
Members of Odisha Sahitya Akademi also mourned the untimely demise of Rout.
