Odisha Sarpanch Brother’s Killer Nabbed In Surat After 4 Years

Bhubaneswar: Surat Crime Branch has arrested a wanted criminal from Odisha following a raid at Amroli Shriram Chokdi there.

The accused has been identified as Kartik Pandi. He had been absconding for the last four years after the alleged murder of Rajendra Parida, the younger brother of the sarpanch of Chachina village in Ganjam district during Diwali in 2018.

“He was wanted for firing with murder, firing with an attempt to murder and looting/torching of a petrol pump. He was residing in Katargam area and working as a labourer,” said Lali Bagadia, Inspector, Crime Branch.

While the 2018 murder is being attributed to an election-related fight, he was also involved in a firing incident in 2017.
