Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has refused to comply with the Maan Ki Baat programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the students in all schools and colleges scheduled on Friday.
It may be mentioned that the Union HRD Minister Prakash Javedkar in a recent letter to all the state governments had requested them to make arrangements in all schools and colleges for the students to attend the Maan Ki Baat programme to listen to the tips of the Prime Minister about the forthcoming annual examinations.
However, the Odisha government has turned down the request of the Union minister.
“Since this is the examination time, it is not possible for the state government to arrange the Mann Ki Baat programme of the Prime Minister in schools and colleges. I don’t think this is not the time to disturb the students who are preparing for their annual examinations. After all, the teachers have already advised the students about the mode of their preparation,” School and Mass Education minister Badri Narayan Patra told media persons here on Thursday.
The minister, however, said the students can see the Prime Minister’s programme in TV in their home or at any places.
