Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has directed the authorities of SCB Medical College and Hospital (SCBMCH) to rusticate the senior resident doctor of the Cardiology Department, who is accused of raping two women patients.

Giving this information, Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET) Santosh Kumar Mishra said that the principal of SCB Medical College has been directed to rusticate the accused doctor.

He said a letter has been issued to the Principal of SCB Medical College asking him to rusticate the accused doctor. The letter was sent on the basis of the report of the inquiry committee which conducted a probe into the incident, Mishra said.

The investigation conducted by the three-member committee corroborated the accused doctor’s involvement in the offence, with no evidence of conspiracy or false implication, clarified the DMET, who headed the probe panel.
