Bhubaneswar: The state secretariat is all set to become greener. More solar panels will be added to the existing 50 kW panels to make the building completely solar powered.
The building currently consumes around 1850 KWh per month, of which 265 KWh is generated from the existing solar panels. It pays a bill of around Rs 16-17 lakh per month. The existing solar panels have helped reduce the bill by around Rs 1-1.5 lakh per month.
The state secretariat will be first of many buildings to go solar in the state capital, sources said.
