Bhubaneswar: The number of new COVID-19 cases in Odisha came down further on Monday with 2,423 cases reported overnight.
The state had reported 2,546 new cases on Sunday and 2,854 cases on Saturday.
Among the new cases reported on Monday, 1,417 are in quarantine and 1,006 are local contacts.
Though Khurda district reported the highest of 359 new cases, the number has come down below 400.
Among the other districts, Angul led the tally with 229 new cases, followed by Sundargarh (195), Mayurbhanj (128), Cuttack (118), Bargarh (99), Jajpur (97), Balangir (93), Jagatsinghpur (84), Kendrapada (73), Puri (73), Keonjhar (70), Bhadrak (67), Dhenkanal (66), Jharsuguda (66), Nuapada (63), Sambalpur (60), Kalahandi (57), Sonepur (53), Malkangiri (48), Balasore (42), Nayagarh (40), Ganjam (37), Kandhamal (35), Nabarangpur (28), Koraput (24), Deogarh (17), Boudh (10), Rayagada (10) and Gajapati (7).
This apart, the state pool has 75 cases.
Out of the total tally of 2,54,662 positive cases in Odisha so far, 25,954 are active cases and 2,27,615 patients have recovered.
