Odisha Sees Slight Drop In New COVID Infections; Active Tally 244

Bhubaneswar: Odisha on Wednesday saw 26 more people testing positive for COVID in the last 24 hours against 37 on Tuesday, and 15 on Monday.

According to the I & PR department, 15 of these new cases are from quarantine and 11 local contacts. Four among them belong to the 0-18 years age group.

Here is the district-wise tally of new cases:

1. Angul: 1
2. Balasore: 2
3. Bargarh: 1
4. Cuttack: 4
5. Deogarh: 2
6. Khurda: 1
7. Nuapada: 1
8. Puri: 2
9. Sambalpur: 1
10. Sonepur: 1
11. Sundargarh: 10

With these cases being detected from 7,885 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.33%. With 41 more recoveries in the last 24 hours, Odisha now has 244 active cases.

It is pertinent to mention here that four districts – Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, and Malkangiri – continued to remain COVID-free with nil active cases, as per the state COVID dashboard.
