Khurda: District collector Sitanshu Kumar Rout has announced a seven-day shutdown in Balugaon’s fish market in Khurda district on Saturday after a fish trader tested positive for COVID-19.
The shutdown will be effective till July 24. More than 1 quintal of shrimp have been destroyed in the warehouses of the affected fish trader.
In addition, his two fish warehouses and three ice mills have also been sealed. The fish market area has been sanitised.
The family members of the trader have been instructed to stay in the home quarantine. Contact tracing is underway.
District Collector Shitanshu Rout, Superintendent Police (SP) Ajay Pratap Swain, sub-collector Ashok Beuria, on Saturday visited the Balugaon fish market to inspect the situation.
