Hyderabad: Odisha woman shuttler Pragati Parida won her second international medal with a bronze at the Hyderabad Kotak Junior International Series, which concluded at the Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad today. She won the bronze medal in the U-19 mixed doubles event with C Lalramsanga (Mizoram) as her partner.
Pragati and Lalramsanga reached semifinals before going down fighting against Thailand pair of Attawut Sreepeaw and Pannawee Polyiam 22-20, 14-21, 20-22. The Indian duo won three matches to secure a berth in the semifinals.
A trainee of Bhubaneswar-based Odisha-SAI Regional Badminton Academy, 17-year-old Pragati had won her maiden international medal with a mixed doubles bronze at the Li Ning Sri Lanka International Series earlier this year in Galle, Sri Lanka.
Pragati belongs to Jajpur district and has the reputation of winning eight national level medals so far. Her national medals include one gold and one bronze at the 35th Sub-junior National Badminton Championship 2023 in Hyderabad.
