Bhubaneswar: The Odisha and Singapore governments have expressed satisfaction over the progress of a joint skill development project in the state.
At a high level meeting in Singapore on Tuesday, Odisha’s Skill Development and Technical Education Minister, Premananda Nayak, and Singapore’s Education Minister, Ong Ye Kung, reviewed the engagement between Singapore’s Institute of Technical Education (ITEs) and Odisha Skill Development Authority (OSDA).
Following the review, both sides said the results of the engagement have been satisfactory so far. They also agreed to expand the relationship in skill development in Odisha.
On his part, Nayak invited the Singapore minister to visit Odisha in 2020. He also proposed to invite 100 technical vocational education and training (TVET) students from Singapore for an internship in Odisha.
Indian Ambassador Javed Ashraf, OSDA Chairman Subroto Bagchi, OSDA CEO Rashmita Panda, DT&T Director Reghu G, CEO of ITEs Bruce Poh and Director of ITEs Boon Tiong were also present in the meeting.
