Bhubaneswar: With rain continuing to lash several parts of Odisha, the state government on Thursday announced closure of all schools and anganwadi centres in Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Kendrapara and Bhadrak districts.
While schools and anganwadi centres in these four districts have been shut, teachers and staff have been asked to remain present at their respective centres, sources said.
As rainwater has entered the low-lying areas in these districts, the collectors have instead directed the school and anganwadi authorities to use these institutions as shelters, if necessary.
