Bhubaneswar: Odisha and India’s champion sprinter Animesh Kujur has qualified for the upcoming Glasgow Commonwealth Games (CWG) in both 100m and 200m events.
The 23-year-old Animesh had already made the cut in 100m after clocking 10.15 seconds in last month’s Federation Cup meet at Ranchi.
On Sunday, Animesh finished second in Men’s 200m at the New Taipei City Athletics Championships 2026, in a time of 20.47 seconds. That was good enough to seal qualification for the Commonwealth Games, but short of his 200m national record (20.32).
The 23rd edition of the CWG will be held in Scotland’s Glasgow, from July 23 to August 2.
