Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Beverage Corporation (OSBC) on Monday launched a portal for home delivery of liquor.
The portal, set up with the collaboration of NIC, can be accessed at www.osbc.co.in where the link to visit the login page is available. Visitors have to register themselves to access the portal, which is mobile compatible.
The full list of retailers within the district at one location is available in the portal. All brands stocked by retailers, along with their MRPs, is also listed.
The consumer can thus select the retailer and brand of liquor of this choice. Once selected, a challan will be generated with the details and delivery charges.
Since all orders are registered in this portal, the record of each transaction is generated, sparing retailers from the trouble of maintaining another register. The e-Invoice which is generated acts as an e-pass to facilitate movement. SMS alerts are also sent to customers.
The Odisha government has allowed home delivery of liquor by retailers directly as well as through other agencies.
Till May 31, a total of 2,46,852 home delivery orders have been received, with the number and volume of orders rising steadily in all districts.
