Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) will face Khurda in the final of the state senior men’s hockey championship.
ECoR edged out Sundargarh 4-3 in a thrilling semifinal at KIIT Stadium here on Friday. ECoR jumped to a 3-0 lead within 20 minutes, before Sundargarh fought back with two goals. However, a goal each in the third and fourth quarter helped ECoR regain control of the match.
Sundargarh made it 3-4, but failed to get the equalizer.
In the first semifinal earlier this afternoon, Khurda had a smooth ride as they saw off SAIL 4-0.
ECoR had walloped Deogarh 8-1 while Khurda overcame Gajapati 3-0 in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
The title-round clash will be held on Saturday.
