Odisha State Museum To Showcase Antique Idols Of Lord Buddha

Bhubaneswar: Antique idols of Lord Buddha discovered from Khurda district will be showcased at a special gallery at the Odisha State Museum from December 29.

This was informed by Odisha State Museum’s Superintendent, Jayanti Rath.

The event coincides with the 62nd Foundation Day of the Museum on the same day. These antique idols of Lord Buddha were discovered from Banapur. They includ nearly 75 bronze statues of Lord Buddha carved between the 5th-10th century. Besides, another much-awaited gallery ‘Postal Heritage of Odisha’ displaying rare stamps of India will be opened on the special occasion.

Apart from this, a number of research journals including ‘Odisha Historical Research Journal’, ‘Satyanarayan Rajguru: Contribution to Odisha History and Culture’ and ‘Reprint of Odisha Historical Research Journal’ will be unveiled.
