Bhubaneswar: Following the recent ragging incidents in Uttar Pradesh Medical College and VSSUT in Burla, a campaign for ‘Ragging-Free Campus’ began across Odisha on Sunday.
As a part of the campaign, a silent prayer and awareness programme was conducted at Mahatma Gandhi Park here. Students of several colleges and universities of Odisha, educationists, social workers, and students association leaders participated.
The speakers exhorted the victims of ragging and their parents to immediately lodge a police complaint.
“Senior students and the authorities should take steps to stop this practice. Anti-Ragging Cell should be also set up in police stations,” said converner of the campaign Tejeswar Parida
A daylong anti-ragging workshop will be held in the city next Sunday, he added.
