Cuttack: Although the Odisha government has cancelled the annual Matric examinations, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has decided to provide mark sheets and certificates to the students.
According to BSE president Ramashish Hazra, the Board and the state government are exploring the modalities for awarding marks to the students.
Stating that the ex-Regular, Madhyama and Odisha State Open School students will be adversely affected if the evaluation is done on the basis of the marks secured in the practice tests, he said efforts are on to adopt a common evaluation method.
Assuring that all Matric, Madhyama and OSOS students will be provided with the mark sheets and certificates, the BSE president said that efforts are on to conduct the examination if the students are not satisfied with the marks awarded through the common evaluation method.
Advising the students not to feel dejected over the cancellation of the annual examination, he told them to concentrate on their studies as this will help them pursue higher education.
