Bhubaneswar: Gearing up for the general elections next year, the ruling BJD in Odisha on Thursday appointed 6 more leaders as observers.
While Rajya Sabha member Manas Mangaraj has been appointed as observer for Berhampur Lok Sabha constituency, general secretary of the party Srimayee Mishra has been assigned Bhubaneswar seat.
Similarly, Bhubaneswar (North) MLA Sushant Rout has been assigned the observer job for Hindol and Dhenkanal Assembly constituencies, Korei MLA Ashok Bala will be observer for Telkoi seat, Asish Chakraborty Prajang and Kamakhyanagar seats and Kunja Bihari Das Angul district.
It may be noted that the BJD had appointed new observers for all 30 districts of the state on March 27.
Earlier in the day, party president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik expelled president of Sankhemundi block in Ganjam district, Nilamadhab Raut, for indulging in anti-party activities.
